I continue to run lessons at Pacific Shores Resort in Nanoose Bay and I wanted to send everyone a winter update. I've expanded Sundays to 10AM to 7PM and continue to teach Tue/Wed/Thurs/Fri from 3-7PM. I'm looking at Saturdays starting in January.
2027 Package System
We tried a package system in 2026. It was really easy to program and let customers choose any times they wanted from a Calendar. It was difficult to signup for.
Solving the signup problems, we are going to revisit Packages using a simpler package system in January 2027.
(Please be aware that the 2026 packages were deleted. Everyone owed lessons was sent an email and coupons in June 2026.)
3255 Stephenson Point Road
The plans for the use of this pool have changed about every 6 months since the fire in 2023. Currently it is still not repaired. The repair permit was finally granted for Fall 2026. In-Space Childcare has announced that they will be running the pool. Under this plan Charke Swim will not be returning to use the pool.
Charke Swim Refund Policy Change
Charke Swim, going forward, is going to offer a limit of 30 days to reply and start resolving missed lessons. We've been tracking missed lessons going back three years, and just became aware that most companies limit resolving cancelled lessons to 30 days or less. To give people a chance to respond, on November 31st 2026, any unresolved cancelled lessons older than 1 month, and coupons older than 1 year, will be removed from our books. (Most cancellations are resolved well in that time and almost all the rest have never responded.)
The Future
I continue to plan for Charke Swim and I have high hopes for changes in 2027. However, I need to see how a number of things resolve before I know what options I will have moving forward.
