Charke Swim November!

Hi Everyone,

Pacific Shores Resort has reopenned after 2 days without power and lessons are back on!
December and January Lessons are posted. December is only 3 weeks but January has 5 weeks!

Resort Membership Discount
If you have a student in my lessons, Pacific Shores will give you a 15% discount on their monthly membership to the Pool and Gym. This gives you access to the pool and gym whenever they are open. (Without a membership I am allowed 2 persons in the water at a time during any lesson and I have to ask that you please don't get in before your lesson starts.)
  • Monthly Family Pass: 145.00$ discounted to 123.25$
  • Monthly Single Pass: 65.00$ discountered to 55.25$

New Cancellation Policy
Starting January 1st 2025, sets of lessons (x2, x3, x4, x5) will use the same policy as classes. When you are within 48 hours of the first session refunds and changes will not be permitted. Right now, changes are permitted and these single odd changed/cancelled classes almost always become flash sales which only break even and are costing me a significant loss. Single lessons (x1) will not be affected. Flash Sale November 22nd

Stephenson Point Road Pool
Not good news unfortunately with beaurocracy and paperwork slowing repairs they estimate summer to winter 2025 for repairs at this time. I continue to look for alternative pools from Parksville to Ladysmith.

Happy Fire Anniversary at Charke Swim

Hi Everyone,

It's been a year since the fire at Stephenson Point Road. It feels like nothing has changed in that year. We are still waiting on permits to do the repairs. (It took over a year to get the permit for the renovation that caused the fire.) Pool repairs seem to be hugely problematic these days with the NAC also having an unusually long wait time for a part they need. I continue to teach at Pacific Shores Resort in Nanoose Bay. I continue to write a book on swimming lessons that I started years ago; Kick Kick Swim. I have contacted every pool from Parksville to Duncan and there is nothing closer than Pacific Shores that has pool space they can rent out. Unfortunately the best option is to wait for the repairs so I've talked to Pacific Shores and plan to remain there until into 2025 with registration currently available all the way to November and I'm starting on December.
